When Karel Čapek wrote his 1937 warning about the rise of fascism in the shadow of a deadly disease, he had no idea how timely the play would become 85 years later. This contemporary production by the Municipal Theater of Mladá Boleslav was created during the coronavirus pandemic specifically for the online space. The performance also takes place off stage - in boxes, in a ropeway, on a balcony, presenting breathtaking visuals that combine theatrical and cinematic elements. The viewer also gets a glimpse of the theater from angles that an auditorium does not normally offer.
