Kharkiv V. A. Afanasyev State Academic Puppet Theater
Kharkiv Viktor Afanasyev State Academic Puppet Theater is one of the most famous art collectives of Ukraine, whose activities combine a strong professional school and bold modern experiments. It was founded more than 80 years ago. In recent years, the performances of the main director Oksana Dmitrieva, created in a creative tandem with the main artist Natalia Denisova, have attracted the attention of viewers and critics. A particularly important line of theater activity is the development of repertoire for adults. The most iconic works: "May Night" and "Marriage" by M. Gogol, "King Lear" and "Hamlet" by V. Shakespeare, "Imaginary Patient" by J.-B. Moliere, "Children of Paradise" by J. Préver, "History of a Family Lost by Vain Hopes, Fighting Roosters and Wayward Women" by L. Lyagushonkova and K. Penkova. These and other productions participated in more than 50 all-Ukrainian and international festivals, where they were repeatedly awarded.
