Hudební divadlo Karlín
One of the oldest and most famous musical entertainment theaters. After the State Opera House, Karlín Music Theater has the second largest hall in Prague with a capacity of 921 seats. The theater is housed in a building built in 1881 by the Tichy family as a variété, where Charlie Chaplin is said to have been a guest. Since 1945, the Karlín Musical Theater has been staging numerous celebrated operettas and musicals, with theater legends such as Jan Werich and Vlasta Burian having performed on its stages. In 2002, the theater was hit by floods and had to undergo a complete reconstruction.
