Art.Razom presents for the first time Lesya Ukrainka's dramatic poem as an opera performance. This story of love, pain and despair is dedicated to a close friend and lover of the poetess, Serhiy Merzhynsky. Although in the poem Lesya Ukrainka interprets the famous biblical story, the play departs from the religious background and comes closer to understanding the psychology of a woman who can withstand everything through her love. The minimalist scenery and stage design allows the audience to fully concentrate on the main character’s feelings. The life drama of a woman is conveyed through the late romantic, expressionist style of music.
