Ivano-Frankivsk Puppet Theater
The Ivano-Frankivsk Puppet Theater was founded in 1945 with its main creative activity focussed on national themes, respecting the traditions of the Ukrainian people. The repertoire is dominated by performances based on classics and folklore, from the works of Ukrainian classical writers and prominent foreign authors. The Puppet Museum is part of the theater with an exhibition of over a hundred puppets. Every year new shows are scheduled for St. Nicholas Day, Christmas and New Year holidays, as well as various children's competitions and exhibitions of art works. The theater has been a participant at many international theater festivals held in Belgium, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, France and Ukraine. In 2001, the International Festival of National Classics "Amulets” - held once every two years - was launched at the Ivano-Frankivsk Puppet Theater.
